July 4th we were both rather tired, we have some new neighbors here who slam doors, and stay up until 3 or 4 AM, they also smoke in their room, a no no, but it seems they just do not care about rules. So we woke up after a bad nights sleep and neither of us were in a great mood.
I got out Amanda's Independence day tee and put it on her, tried to take some photos of her smiling on her first 4th of July, well I never did get her to smile.
I ended up with a headache and we both slept a little more than we should have. I was also more than a little depressed about spending the 4th without my family and it is just another day here. So headachy, tired, and homesick, I just could not post to the blog.
Today was different, she was so happy today she could not contain her joy; giggling, playing, huggging me, and just being a happy little girl.
We enjoyed our morning out, she put up with a bumpy ride and mommy picking up the stroller to get into shops. She even behaved in a glass shop.

Sorry you had such a hard day due to others not being courteous to others. That would make anyone have a bad day....
Sorry you were not able to be home for the 4th of July celebrations.
Looks like you had a great day of site seeing.... those buildings are great.
Hope you both have a good nights rest tonight.
Wow! Kris, it looks beautiful there. You take such nice pictures, I loved your montage. I'm so happy Amanda was a giggly girl for you today.:) She is a sweetheart! Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed it very much!

Kris,
Is good to see a new post.
How cute Amanda looks in her 4th of july shirt. Even though no smile she is adorable. I am sorry you were down yesterday. I missed your updates. Know you were on my mind all day. What a good girl letting mama doing shopping. Sounds like today was a good day. I cant wait to see more videos of her.
Counting down the days with you.

What a great montage of photos! it goes to show that a person with an artistic eye can capture the best parts of the scenery. Very nice honey! I was completely captivated! I wish I could have explored more while I was there!
Charlotte, I am pretty sure Nevski is Russian Orthodox, people were streaming into it, so I do not believe they would prohibit anyone from seeing the inside.
I wish I had as much art in me as you have in just your little finger. Your photos and their presentation are just wonderful.
I hope the you and Amanda can get more sleep. We didn't do much on the 4th, which is a regular day here too. I did see a freind from Hawaii though.
Only four more days and you're on your way home. Hope they and the trip go smoothly.
Kris,
The slide show did not show up the first time I visited your blog. It is WONDERFUL. How awesome is that. You will have all of these photos to share with Amanda when she is older. You can tell her all about the 2 of you out for your walk. Making memories how exciting.
What is the weather like there? Cant wait to hear all about your trip once you are home and rested a bit.

I love Amanda's 4th of July outfit! The Nevski Cathedral is beautiful. Too bad you couldn't go inside.
She just gets cuter and cuter everyday.
Amanda looks as cute as a button in her 4th of july clothes. Wonder how she will react next year to the fireworks back home.
I had made a little graphic celebrating Amanda's adoption and then linked it back to your blog but I realize that I should have asked before using the photos of your sweet little girl. I took it down, but wanted to share it with you as well.
